Reco Bra® featured in Celebrity Angels
We are delighted to share that the Reco Bra® has been featured by Celebrity Angels in a piece on post-surgery comfort for women. The feature is an in-depth interview with our founder, Nicole de Havilland, exploring why the Reco Bra® was created and what sets it apart for women recovering from breast and thoracic surgery.
Designed from real clinical experience
The Reco Bra® did not begin as a product idea. It began at the bedside. Nicole spent more than 20 years as a lymphoedema practitioner, treating complex breast surgery cases for the NHS and privately, including work at the NHS St Margaret’s Essex Breast Unit and the London Breast Institute, formerly at The Princess Grace Hospital.
In the feature, Nicole explains that she repeatedly saw patients struggling with existing post-surgery bras. Seamed designs were irritating incision sites and, in some cases, causing bleeding after surgery. There was no seamless option that met the medical needs of recovery. Recognising that gap in care, she set out to design something better: a seamless, recovery-focused bra shaped by a real understanding of wound locations, swelling and the day-to-day challenges of healing.
What makes the Reco Bra® different
As covered in the interview, the Reco Bra® combines a four-way stretch with a unique integrated compression to give supportive, comfortable coverage throughout recovery. If the surgical site is swollen, the bra expands with it, and as the swelling subsides the fabric contracts so the cup continues to fit optimally at every stage of healing.
That fit matters for more than comfort. Good support can reduce pain and help mobility, and when a post-surgical bra feels comfortable to wear, patients are far more likely to follow their surgeon’s recommendations.
The Reco Bra® is also the only bra to feature the Devan® Bi-Ome certified antimicrobial, which helps protect against well-known harmful bacteria and hospital microorganisms. It has been rigorously tested for relevant bacteria through an independent testing facility. The bra is made from 89% polyamide and 11% elastane, and is latex free.
Who it is for
The Reco Bra® is suitable for any woman having breast or thoracic surgery, including breast cancer, breast reconstruction and all types of plastic or cosmetic surgery. It also supports women through a range of cardiothoracic and lung surgeries. It is available in black, white and honey.
